Rules

First, we recommend that if you're playing the American Idol drinking game with friends, to decide on wagering drinks between yourselves throughout the duration of the show. Here's some ideas on what you could wager alcohol on:

  • Will the contestant be a God awful singer? Y/N
  • Which judge will speak to the contestant first? (Randy/Nicki/Mariah/Keith)
  • What genre will the contestant pick to sing from?
  • Will the contestant go to Hollywood? Y/N
  • Will the contestant cry? Y/N (can expand the bet to include judges , *Mariah*)
  • If the show hasn't begun yet, what color will Nicki Minaj's hair be?
  • If the show hasn't begun yet, will Mariah show cleavage?

Now that the bets are out of the way, lets most on to the list of drinking game rules, based on a mix of probable and unlikely events occurring:

  • (1) Drink: Whenever Nicki Minaj's voice, outfit, or whatever else pisses you off (for whatever reason)
  • (2) Drinks: Every time Ryan Seacrest does an interview
  • (2) Drinks: If Keith Urban says the word "country"
  • (2) Drinks: If a contestant calls themselves "the next American Idol"
  • (2) Drinks: Every time Randy says "dog" (drink 4 if he says it to a female)
  • (3) Drinks: If the judges laugh at the contestant
  • (3) Drinks: If the contestant gets sent home with 0 votes
  • (4) Drinks: If the contestant makes it to Hollywood (you can do a guessing game on this one based on their performance)
  • (5) Drinks: When Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey disagree on a contestant's fate
  • (5) Drinks: Anytime two or more judges fight with each other about anything

As the ratings for American Idol continue to decline each season, maybe an alcoholic spin is exactly what the show needs to hold viewer's attention in season 12!
