Setup

Setting up the Polish Horseshoe Drinking Game requires being outdoors with alcohol ready and having (at a minimum) two poles and a Frisbee. Divide into two groups of either 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 and decide how much distance you want between the two poles (placing the poles closer typically makes for faster games), and draw a horizontal line between the two poles (if you're on the beach) that evenly divides the space between them (the "50 yard line" or "Mason Dixon line") - no one can cross this line. Place a beer bottle on both poles and decide which team goes first.

Rules

This Frisbee drinking game combines friendly competition with getting drunk outdoors. Polish Horseshoes requires you to both throw and catch a Frisbee without spilling your beer and while aiming for a target that will score varying amounts of points based on how well it's defended. A turn consists of both offense and defense.

Offense:
The game proceeds in a back and forth manner, so only one person throws the Frisbee per team per turn (and turns rotate in the same order). While throwing the Frisbee, you can't step in front of your team's pole.

Defense:
While your team's on defense, everyone must be alert as it's a team effort to catch the Frisbee each time it's thrown. If it comes in below the knees, it's deemed uncatchable and no points are awarded. If it knocks the beer bottle off by either hitting the bottle or the pole, you also want to catch the bottle before it hits the ground. We highly suggest making it mandatory to hold a beer in one hand that can't be spilled as this is a drinking game, meaning you must throw and catch with one hand at all times.

Scoring: Only the team throwing the Frisbee can score on any turn, and if you're scored on while on defense, you drink 1 for each point scored.
1 Point is awarded when a catchable Frisbee hits the ground.
3 Points are awarded when the beer bottle is knocked off the pole and hits the ground.
* If the Frisbee knocks the bottle off and both hit the ground, 4 points total are awarded.

There is a special Role Back rule where if the Frisbee isn't caught and hits the ground rolling back past the middle line, it can be thrown again either behind the back or with the non-dominant hand. Also, as this is an outdoor drinking game, if the wind knocks a beer bottle off either pole it's a social drink!
