Summary

The NBA Drinking Game has two formats: The first is fast paced and involved drinking based on points scored, and is best enjoyed while drinking beer. The second version will give you a bit more time to breathe between drinks, and is best played with liquor. Naturally you're also welcome to mix and match rules and make your own basketball drinking game using beer and liquor as well.

Setup

Claim the most comfortable game watching couch spot, grab a few cold beers and if you opted to, keep that bottle of liquor within reach and a shot glass on deck. Tune in to ABC, TNT, or whatever local carrier has your team's game broadcast, and crack the first beer.

Rules

There's something undeniably awesome about drinking alcohol and watching sports, hence the reason you're probably playing this NBA Drinking Game. The best part about the NBA versus other professional sports is its (general) faster pace, opening up the potential for more things like drink wagers on the fly and more drinks overall.

As usual when it comes to sports drinking games, wager on who you think the winning team will be. At the end of each quarter, whoever's team is losing will take a shot or a predetermined number of drinks. We also encourage wagers on the fly when it comes to things like free throws (best if the player sucks at them) and three pointers.

NBA games don't last as long as other professional sports because of the quicker nature, so be ready to drink a lot in a short period of time. Here are the rules:

• Drinking when teams score points
  • (1) Drink: When the team you bet against scores (beer)
  • (1) Shot: For every (10-15) points the team you bet against scores [you decide]
• Drinking when players foul
  • (1) Drink: When a player from your team commits a foul
  • (1) Shot: When a player from your team reaches 3 or 6 fouls
  • (1) Shot: When a flagrant or technical foul is called, everyone drinks
• Drinking when cool shit happens
  • (1) Drink: For a turnover
  • (2) Drinks: For a slam dunk
  • (3) Drinks: for a made 3-pointer
  • (3) Drinks: For a nice and-one play
  • (1) Shot: For a buzzer beating shot
  • (1) Shot: for an airball three pointer or rim check slam dunk
• Drinking for ridiculous/random things
  • (3) Drinks: When a player flops hilariously like a soccer player would
  • (3) Drinks: if Charles Barkley rants about anything
  • (1) Shot: If a fight breaks out

When the game ends, everyone that wagered on the losing team shotguns a beer while the winners laugh at them. If everyone bet on the same team, you guys suck. Go Wizards!
