Equipment

  • One dice and plenty of drinks!
  • A larger dice is recommended for large groups of players, or if you wish to roll the dice on the ground.

Setup

Make a circle of players either at a table, in a room or outside. Determine the youngest player as they will start the game. Everyone that is participating should have a drink at the ready!

Rules

The youngest player starts, and the dice will be passed clockwise.

How to play - The player begins their turn by rolling the dice. After the die is rolled, the number that is face-up is the number of drinks on the line. The player will then decide if the drinks will be given to or taken by the next player to roll the number at the start of the turn. (IE: Joey rolled a 3, and says "The next player to roll a 3 will TAKE that many drinks!") Starting with the player that is taking their turn (Joey), the players will take turns rolling and passing the dice in the circle until the initial number (3) is rolled again. The player that rolls the initial dice roll will give the number of drinks divided as they choose or take the number of drinks. After the drinks are assigned, the die is given to the next player to begin their turn.

Rolling State - The game enters "rolling state" after the player's initial roll and lasts until the number is rolled the second time (excluding 5s). Rolling a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 will enter the game into a rolling state.

The Number 5

  • If a 5 is rolled on a player's roll to determine the number of drinks to be given/taken, then instead all players must drink and the die is then passed to the next player to begin their turn.
  • If a 5 is rolled while the game is in the rolling state, then all players must race one hand into the air, the last player to do so must drink!
  • If three 5s are rolled during the rolling state, then the player that rolled the third 5 may make a rule that lasts the duration of the game. (Ex: Girls drink when a 2 is rolled. You must cover your mouth when you laugh. You can't say Drink/Drank/Drunk.) After the rule is decided, everyone cheers to the new rule and drinks. The game continues in rolling state and the rule lasts until the end of the game. (Rules may stack)

Double Down - To accelerate the slurred words, we recommend offering the Double Down feature to the players for the added risk and double the drinks. If a player were to consume drinks based on their roll during a "take" rolling state, they may call to double down and make an additional roll. If the player rolls the same number, they have successfully doubled the drinks in the pool and the die is given to the next player. The number to roll does not change. (IE: Tom rolled a 2, and calls for take. Bill rolled a 2 during the rolling state and called for a double down. He successfully rolled a second 2 to increase the number of drinks to 4, the dice is passed around until the next player rolls a 2.) If the player does not roll the same number, then that player must double the number of drinks and then consume those drinks. You have a 1 in 6 chance to be successful, however, if it's a low number, it may be worth it to double down and attempt to pass the dice. The drinks may only be doubled once per rolling state, but there is no limit on the number of times you may double down in a game.

The game ends when everyone has had 3-5 turns. (Can be adjusted as needed)
