Drinking games allow friends to come together, have some fun, and let their hair down after a busy week of work or study. Thankfully, there are a wide variety of options to choose from, and all you'll need in terms of equipment is a full deck of cards and, of course, some tasty drinks. Check out the following top drinking games that also involve card play.

Circle of Death

For Circle of Death, every player must have four beers. Next, they will need to sit in a circle with their drinks before selecting a dealer, who will then be referred to as "The Dealer of Death." If a player then calls him or her anything other than The Dealer of Death, they will need to drink their beer for five seconds.

The dealer will be responsible for dealing the cards in a clockwise direction, which will start with the player on their left, and the cards will be placed face up. If a player's cards match a card on either side of it in a suit or number, this will be classed as an active card. Players must then drink for the number of seconds that match the card's value. The Dealer of Death must also count the seconds, and they can count by tapping a table if they are drinking beer at the same time.

2 and 22

2 and 22 is a unique poker game that is a little different from the likes of Texas Holdem and Omaha, and it's possible to turn it into a fun drinking game by applying the following rules.

It is a split pot game, with face cards counting for half their value, while a player can use an Ace as either 1 or 11, and they can win the game if they are dealt a pair. Every player will then receive a card, which will be placed faced down, and then another, which will face up.

The aim of the game is for a player to reach 2 or 22, or as close as possible, to split the pot. Once both cards have been dealt to the players, they can decide to either request another card or to stand put. If, however, a player passes more than three times, they will become locked. They will be unable to take any cards, and they could be forced to take a shot for each pass or quickly finish their drink, which can make it one of the most fun poker games to play with some buddies.

Once everyone is locked, they will face a showdown, but it's important to remember that a player could be bluffing. If a player bluffs well, they could potentially win, even with a low hand. It's also possible to win the game with an Ace-Ace, as a player could win the pot both ways. If, however, a player has a 22 and another has a 2, remember that low always beats high. It's a fun option for those who want to shake up a poker game.

While drinking games can improve socialization and increase bonding, it is important to consume alcohol in moderation

King's Cup

To play King's Cup, a group will need a deck of cards, one cup, and a substantial amount of beer. The first action they must take is to place the cup in the middle of the table. Each player must then take turns to pick a card, with each number or suit requiring a specific action for them to perform.

Here's how it works:

Ace: Waterfall - every player must drink in an almost domino effect. The person who selected the card will determine how long the group will drink for.

Two: You - the player with this card must pick another player to drink.

Three: Me - The player with this card must drink.

Four: Floor - The player with this card, and everyone else, must immediately touch the floor. The last person to do so will need to drink.

Five: Guys - those who identify as males must drink.

Six: Chicks - those who identify as females must drink.

Seven: Heaven - the player, as well as everyone else, must immediately place their hands in the air. The last person to do so will need to drink.

Eight: Pick a mate - The player who picks this card must select a player from the group to drink every time they need to drink.

Nine: Bust a Rhyme - The player who selects this card must say a word, such as "beer," and everyone must say a word that rhymes with it. The first person who cannot think of another word that rhymes must drink.

Ten: Categories - this card is similar to nine, but this time a player must pick a category, such as "European Union countries," so a player could say Germany, France, Italy, etc. The first person who cannot think of a nation must drink, and the group could even make them take an extra shot if they say the UK.

Jack: Never Have I Ever - Players must state something they have never done, such as "never have I ever ate seafood," and those who have will need to drink.

Queen: Questions - The player who selected the card will ask another player a question. That player must not answer the question and must ask a different player a different question, and so on. If a player answers a question or is unable to think of a question to ask another player, they must drink.

King: Make a Rule - A player who picks this card must think of a rule, which will apply to every player, such as all players must make a silly noise before every drink. If they fail to follow this rule, they must drink again. The rule will continue until another player selects a king card and creates a new rule for everyone to follow.

With so many rules to follow and cards on the table, this game isn't for the faint-hearted. So, players should keep a glass of water with them throughout the game.

President

The President drinking game requires at least four players, as well as beer, cards, and a cup for every person. Each player must make it their mission to get rid of their cards as soon as possible.

All the cards are ranked lowest to highest and will start at four. Two is a clear card, so if someone places down a two, it will clear the cards on the table and reset the round. Three is also a wild card so that it can serve as any number other than two. There is, however, the possibility to place down two threes, which can serve as a single two, so a player can clear the round. It's also essential to bear in mind that ace is high.

If a player has doubles or triples of a regular card, they will be a higher value. For instance, if a player has two fives, this will be higher than a six. If a player has three fives, this will be higher than two kings.

The dealer will distribute all cards to players in the first round, which excludes the joker. If a player has a four of clubs, they will start the game by placing this card in the middle of a table. Player two will be the person who can place down a card higher than the first card on the table.

This process will continue until all players no longer have a higher card. The first person to get rid of every card will be the president in the second round. The second person to do so will be the vice president, and the last person must wear a silly hat.

During the second round, the president can place any card they like in the middle of the table. He or she can also trade their worst cards for the best cards of the person who is wearing the hat. The president can also make the hat wearer drink at any point in the round. The vice president also has the power to make any other player drink during the game, except the president. Another important rule is that the president must never pour their own drink.

So, those looking for a fun drinking game to play with their friends should consider the above options.
