The Worst Games to Play Drunk

Drunk? Want a game to play? Want to know what not to play? I'm surprised you can even read this article - but congratulations, you're still sober enough to internet!

There are some games that are great to play drunk, making you scream with laughter or joy and annoy anyone sober within your general vicinity. If they're games that are easy and don't require mental gymnastics or much physical coordination then you've got a winner on your hands - games like Snap or Truth or Dare rate highly.

However, there are some games that you definitely shouldn't play drunk. Keep these in mind to ensure you're not a constant loser and end up just annoying yourself!

Drinking games

While, yes, we are a site dedicated to drinking games, if you are already drunk then playing drinking games probably isn't the best course of action unless you want to end up blackout drunk (and, no, not the drinking game Blackout).

After you're already drunk then it's time to call it quits on the drinking games - you have achieved your goal. Instead, have a drunken chat with your mates instead and tell them how much you love them, hit on someone you like who is equally as drunk as you, or just decide to call it a day and head to bed with a nightcap: Gatorade.

Pool

We all have that tipsy point where we are amazing at playing pool - before it all falls in a steaming heap and we can't sink a ball to save ourselves.

Do you know your drink limit window for playing pool? For many people, they'll say around two to three drinks is when they play pool best. For those with a higher tolerance to alcohol, or perhaps a larger frame, it may be a little more.

If you're going to play pool, remember your drink window - and know that any drinks you have after that will probably cause you to keep losing. Give up once your drink window has closed and move on to flip cup instead.

Any real money casino games

While it's awfully tempting to hit the casino and have a few drinks with your friends on a night out, it can also be a biiiig mistake - for your wallet.

Getting dressed up and getting drunk and hitting the tables sure is fun until you check your bank balance in the morning and realize you've accidentally just spent half your month's rent.

If you are going to the casino and getting drunk then take only cash and leave your cards at home. This way you won't be tempted to overspend. Just make sure that your phone is charged so you can Uber home later - and don't lose your phone!

Driving games

Just like you shouldn't drink and drive in real life, you shouldn't drink and play driving video games.

While it can be fun playing driving games with a wheel, or even just a controller, while you're tipsy (since you can't do it in real life), once you hit drunk status then you'll end up all over the road, crashing, and/or coming in dead last place.

If you have the gang together to play Mario Kart or something similar and you realize that you're pretty wasted then it's time to give up the controller and just watch. Pour drinks for your crew instead so long as you can still see straight.

Darts

Think because you're not seeing double by shutting one eye so you'll be a great aim at darts? Ha! Stop right there!

You'll miss the board, you'll annoy everyone at the bar, and if you get really unlucky you might even hit someone and have a lawsuit on your hands.

Playing with anything sharp and pointy while you're drunk is a no-no. Don't play darts, don't try and carve a turkey, and stay away from scissors, mmmkay?

Keep it simple, stupid!

If you want to play games while you're already drunk then the golden rule is to keep it simple, stupid! Your brain is in a daze and your coordination is off so instead play any games that don't require these two elements and you'll do just fine.

Now is not the time to be breaking out Settlers of Catan or Dance Dance Revolution - much as you might feel irresistibly compelled to play right now.
