Last year the Witcher premiered on Netflix and instantly became a hit; many gamers anticipated the show after the huge success of the game based on the Polish mythology novels. After the popularity of The Witcher on Netflix, the developers have decided to give it a new DLC based on the show, and it will be free for everyone who currently owns the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been out for six years now, and its grand DLC Blood and Wine has been out for five years, and despite the age of the game, it is just not fading away in the backdrop as a new "next-gen" update is on its way which will come later in this year available for consoles and PC. If you still haven't played it, we highly recommend grabbing The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Key

There will be more information about as to what the new DLC will specifically have, but for now, the announcement came from the Twitter handle for The Witcher in which CD Projekt have given us a hint about the new update which will come for PlayStation, Xbox and PC but when will this update launch is just a guess anyone can make now but surely will come this year.

Before Witcher fans get their hopes too high, they should know that in this update, there are no new places to explore or more quests to complete as the updated art cover for the "Complete Edition" of Witcher 3 states that the new DLC will have some extra items that the Netflix series have inspired among which are new swords, armor and maybe some fancy things for Roach.

The addition of new items was not really unprecedented as CD Projekt has put out 16 DLC packages since the Witcher launched, which included new quests, outfits, contracts, Gwent cards, and much more. However, it is not usual for new content to be seen with such hype for a game that is six years old; it can be argued that the next-gen release is fairly new.

The tweet from 'The Witcher' has surely created hype and especially after we learned that the DLC is free, which is a great thing. We appreciate CD Projekt for this showing their support to the Fans, game developers hardly give things for free these days. For all the newcomers who have turned to the game after the Netflix series became a hit, this will be a nice bonus to see content that is inspired by the show as they play along with the epic story of The Witcher. For now, there is no date announced specifically, but the next-gen update is coming this year.
