Fun ways to implement drinking games while watching the NFL

The NFL season is just around the corner and even though you might not be following the preseason intently, the season is shaping up to be a real interesting one. There's nothing better than gathering a couple of friends to watch a football game.

But since you're reading this on a website dedicated to drinking games we're not going to give you a rundown of how the Buccaneers are going to structure their offense, or which team is the most likely to make a deep play-off run.

There are other websites that can provide you with good tips and tricks around choosing nfl picks and betting, but the internet is alarmingly scarce with tips on and ideas on how to turn a game of football into a fun and engaging drinking game. In this text we're going to give you a couple of fun tips that you can implement.

Choose an event on the field and drink when it happens

This is the most obvious way of doing things, but it can still be a lot of fun. The most obvious choice is drinking at every touchdown, but this can be adapted to fit into any scenario on the field. If you really want to get ready for a night out you can choose a new first down as a point of drinking, but it's better to steer clear of the hard liquor if this is the case as things might get rowdy very quickly if the defense of one team is having a rough outing.

Wager shots with your friends

Wagering shots with your friends is a way to make the game more engaging for everyone. For example, one person might bet against another that the team in question is going to make the field goal and the loser then drinks.

Split everyone up in two teams

If you're not rooting for anyone in particular during the game, splitting the viewers into two teams might be fun. In this example we're going to the Colts and the Bears as an example. One team is assigned to the Colts while one team is assigned to the Bears. When one of the team scores a touchdown, sack, interception, field goal, or anything else that you decide on, the team on the receiving end has to drink. This adds some emotional excitement to the entire ordeal and can be a ton of fun.
