The NFL Drinking Game has basically become a part of American culture, as the combination of alcohol, football, and greasy food into what we call "Sunday Funday" has become a widespread tradition every September to February.
Everyone get in your favorite couch spot with an open beer ready to go, a bottle of liquor on deck, and a few extra beers ready to go within close proximity (a friend of mine has a mini fridge wedged between couches). Turn on your team's game, or if you're a boss, turn on NFL Red Zone, and get ready for Sunday Funday football style.
When the NFL is in season, Sundays are for the football. Whether you have a favorite team that you root for each week, or if you're a Jaguars fan and your only enjoyment relies on your fantasy team doing well, all Americans agree that Football is by far the best professional sport. The biggest difference between NFL and say the MLB is that you don't have to be blackout drunk to enjoy a football game, whereas I don't know too many people that would dare step foot into a baseball stadium with a BAC lower than .18 and a few airplane bottles.
Before each game kicks off, always wager on which team you think is going to win. Then, whenever the opposing team scores, drinks are given out based on how many points they scored (or shots of liquor can be substituted). If everyone is cheering for the same team, you all drink for each score, be it a "happy shot" or a "fuck the other team just scored shot".
Here's the list of rules for the NFL drinking game, feel free to use as many as you want, or all of them depending on how much fun you want to have:
If you want to spice things up and make the NFL drinking game ever more interesting, implement the Bathroom Rule where if someone misses a drink while in the bathroom, a penalty is called and they drink twice the amount they were supposed to.
As always, please remember to drink responsibly while enjoying this alcohol drinking game, and please leave feedback in the comments if you enjoyed it!
